The Great Cleansed Space Hi there! I’m Elena — mum to three little humans (including twins), partner to an incredibly patient man, and the heart behind The Great Cleansed Space.

What started back in 2021 as a small organising and decluttering business has grown into a full-service cleaning company supporting families right across our community. Along the way, I realised something pretty important: most people aren’t “bad” at housework — they’re just stretched thin. Today, The Great Cleansed Space is made up of an incredible team of women (mostly mums), all juggling real l

ife alongside their work. We’re down-to-earth, non-judgemental, and genuinely care about the homes and families we support. Many of us are time-poor parents ourselves — so we get it. Our goal isn’t perfection. It’s relief. It’s walking into a home that feels lighter, calmer, and more manageable. Whether you book us occasionally or we become part of your regular routine, we’re honoured to be part of your “village”. Running a business like this is incredibly rewarding — and also incredibly exhausting at times — but it’s work I’m deeply proud of. Thank you for trusting us with your space, your time, and your homes. Sometimes adulting is just too much to do alone. We’re here to help. 🤍

This one’s for the mums staring into the pantry at 8:04pm trying to produce a healthy, homemade, nut-free, lunchbox-approved snack with the energy level of a damp tea towel.

Apparently we’re meant to be lovingly baking oat bars from scratch.

Meanwhile I’m over here emotionally attached to anything that comes individually wrapped and doesn’t require me to wash a mixing bowl.

Is it organic? No.

Is it shaped like a dinosaur? Maybe.

Will it be eaten instead of returned home warm and suspiciously sweaty? Hopefully.

The pressure to make beautiful homemade snacks is real, but sometimes survival looks like a packet of crackers and calling it balance.

Please tell me your go-to lunchbox snack that requires absolutely no emotional commitment.

This one’s for the mums who have ever walked out of daycare drop off while their child screamed like they were being left to fend for themselves in the wilderness.

Are they safe? Yes.

Are they loved? Absolutely.

Are they going to be happily eating morning tea in approximately four minutes? Almost definitely.

But in that moment?

You are the villain. The betrayer. The woman who dared to leave them with qualified educators, toys, snacks and tiny chairs.

And then you get back to the car and sit there for a second like you’ve just completed an emotional triathlon.

So please tell me — are your daycare drop offs peaceful and wholesome, or do you also leave feeling like you need a coffee, a lie down, and a small certificate of bravery?

This one’s for every household currently running a full-scale missing sock investigation.

You put two socks in the wash.

You KNOW you put two socks in the wash.

And yet somehow, one comes out living its best single life while the other has entered the witness protection program.

Is it under the couch? Behind the dryer? Inside a fitted sheet? Taken by a tiny child for reasons unknown?

No one knows.

All we know is there is a sad little pile of odd socks somewhere in the house, waiting for their soulmate to return.

This one’s for the mums whose car has become less “family vehicle” and more “mobile pantry with seatbelts.”

There’s always a rogue sultana.

A chip packet from a day you don’t remember.

A water bottle rolling around like it pays rent.

And at least one snack wrapper that somehow belongs to no one.

Is the car clean? No.

Are the children fed and emotionally regulated for approximately seven minutes? Yes.

And honestly, sometimes that’s the whole mission.

💚 Local Love – Things to See & Do Around Rockhampton 💚

We’re so lucky to have so many beautiful spots right on our doorstep here in Rocky!

Whether you’re planning a quiet weekend or something to do with the family, here are a few of our favourites:

🌊 Yeppoon & the Capricorn Coast – perfect for a beach day, a walk along the foreshore, or a coffee with a view

⛰ Mount Archer Lookout – one of the best views in the region, especially at sunrise or sunset

🪨 Capricorn Caves – such a unique experience (and great for something a little different!)

🌿 Kershaw Gardens – ideal for a relaxed stroll, a picnic, or letting the kids burn off some energy

It’s easy to forget how much there is to explore right here in our own backyard!

🧺 E M O T I O N A L S U P P O R T L A U N D R Y B A S K E T S 🧺

This one’s for the mums who have a clean laundry basket that has been travelling around the house for 3–5 business days.

Is it folded? No.

Is it clean? Technically.

Is it being used as a temporary wardrobe for the entire family? Absolutely.

There’s just something about a full basket of clean washing that says, “Look at me. I’m productive… but not TOO productive.”

It might live on the couch. It might live at the end of the bed. It might get tipped out so someone can find one specific pair of socks.

So please, make me feel better — how long does clean washing sit in your house before it gets folded?

No judgement. This is a safe space for basket people 🧺

One of the things I’m most proud of when I think about The Great Cleansed Space is the women who make it what it is.

Behind every clean home, every “thank you so much,” every message from a relieved client walking back into their house after a long day… there is one of these beautiful humans showing up with care, effort and heart 💚

Our cleaning team now looks after **112 regular clients** between them, which is something I still have to sit with for a second because… wow 🥹

And behind the scenes, we have Amy helping me (Elena) manage our recurring clients + once off clients, messages, schedule changes, cancellations, bookings and all the little moving parts that keep everything ticking along. Basically, she deserves a medal, a spreadsheet crown and a very large coffee 😂
