It’s starting to feel a little more real inside 51 Bradley Street 🤍

I took Nickie around to show her the building as she hadn’t seen inside yet.

Seeing someone walk through the space for the first time now that things are coming together was actually pretty special.

We’ve now finished painting and most of the flooring.

There’s still plenty to do.

But for the first time, we can really picture what the future Mum & Dad’s Laundromat will become.

This project has never been about rushing.

It’s about creating something reliable, functional and genuinely useful for the Goulburn community for years to come.

Every update makes it feel a little closer.

Thank you to everyone following along with the Road to Bradley St journey and cheering us on along the way. We genuinely appreciate it 🤍

🌧️ Rainy days somehow make everything feel harder.

The washing won’t dry, the kids still need to get everywhere., car windows fog up instantly and nobody wants to leave the house 😅

Meanwhile the laundry basket keeps growing like it pays rent.

Goulburn weather has definitely been keeping everyone on their toes lately.

✔ Wet shoes at the front door
✔ Hoodies everywhere
✔ Towels needing another wash
✔ That permanent “inside drying rack” setup

This weather really turns every house into a juggling act.

A century of Goulburn business.
Right here at 51 Bradley St.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been uncovering the remarkable history behind this building.

And honestly… the story is bigger than we ever imagined.

1924 — Raymond Leslie Stalker builds the site as a Juvenile Shoe Factory.

1925 — Children’s shoes are manufactured here for local families.

1926 — Stalker’s Garage & Service Station opens.

1928 — Murphy’s Motor Garage takes over.

1929 — The Modern Laundry Co. operates from this address.

Their motto?

“We collect and deliver.”

Almost 100 years later…
that’s still exactly what we do.

1930s–1950s — Lee & Thomas electrical engineers and battery manufacturers operate from the building for over 20 years.

1957 — Hudson’s Pest Control trades from the site.

2000s — Smash repair and off-road vehicle businesses continue the building’s commercial life.

2014s–2020s — Old Wares becomes part of the building’s story, bringing secondhand furniture, vintage finds and recycled treasures to Bradley St.

2026 — Mum & Dad’s Laundromat becomes the next chapter.

This building has spent a century serving the people of Goulburn.

Different businesses.
Different generations.
Same community.

And we’re proud to continue that story.
