Already wondering what’s for dinner tonight? 🍽️

Tray bakes are handy on those nights when you want something easy without ending up with a pile of washing up afterwards.

Everything goes onto the one tray, and you can use whatever vegetables you already have in the fridge. It’s also a good way to use up those last few carrots, potatoes or bits and pieces before shopping day.

If the trees in Belmore Park could talk, they would have plenty of stories to tell. 🌳

The Band Rotunda has stood in the heart of the park since 1898, watching generations of Goulburn locals pass through.

There have been brass band performances, Lilac Time celebrations, weekend picnics, school lunch breaks and plenty of quick catch-ups on the steps.

For many people, Belmore Park was simply the place to meet. You might have sat near the rotunda, fed the birds or spent an afternoon watching Auburn Street go by.

Who's excited to see Shrek the Musical JR coming to the Goulburn Performing Arts Centre next week? 🎭

It's fantastic to see local young performers taking to the stage and bringing one of the world's favourite musicals to life right here in Goulburn. The performances run from 13 to 15 August, making it a great family outing during the month.

It’s cold and lightly raining in Goulburn today, which isn’t much help when you’re trying to get the washing dry.

Sometimes it’s not about getting someone else to do all the washing. It’s just using a little help where you need it to keep the week moving.

This is where some smart mums get ahead. If you’ve already done the washing, drop it off to us and we’ll DRY it and get you back on track for the week.

It’s handy when you’re already a few loads behind and don’t want damp washing hanging around the house for the next day or two.

Anyone else looking at the weather today and wondering when the washing is going to dry? 😊

There is something nice about passing a good book on once you have finished it.

The Marulan Book Exchange is held at St Stephen’s Church on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Local volunteers keep it running, giving people a place to bring books they have already read and find something different to take home.

It is a simple community idea, but a useful one. Books stay in circulation, shelves get a little lighter and someone else gets to enjoy a story that may have been sitting unread.

Places like this are part of what makes smaller communities work well. People contribute what they can, volunteers give their time and everyone benefits.

A big weekend is coming up for Goulburn Physie.

The Interclub Competition will be held at the Goulburn Recreation Area on Saturday 8 August and Sunday 9 August, bringing together up to 400 competitors from Goulburn and clubs across New South Wales. Participants range from five years of age through to seniors.

Behind every performance are weeks of practice, early starts, costumes, encouragement from family and plenty of commitment from the competitors themselves.

It is always good to see local groups welcoming visitors to Goulburn and giving young people and adults the chance to perform, build confidence and support one another.

If you’ve lived in Goulburn for a while, there’s a good chance you have a photo with Rambo somewhere.

The Big Merino has been part of Goulburn since 1985, standing 15.2 metres tall and weighing more than 97 tonnes.

Then in 2007 he made a move of his own, travelling around 800 metres down the road after changes to the Hume Highway.

Plenty of locals would remember visiting over the years, taking family there when they came to town, or climbing inside and looking out through his eyes.

We’d love to see some of the older photos people have tucked away.

Static cling season has arrived in Goulburn. ❄️

With the colder mornings, jumpers, blankets and towels are spending a lot more time in the dryer, and static seems to come along with them.

There are plenty of laundry tricks shared online, but we are always interested in hearing which ones people have actually tried at home and found useful.

It’s time for the annual GCOPS Concerts and we can’t wait to see our talented students take to the stage!

Held at Goulburn High School Hall for three nights, the concerts feature outstanding music, dance and entertainment, showcasing the incredible talent from across our GCOPS schools.

Good luck to all students performing and enjoy the show supporting families.
