10-Year -Old Ashton wanted to see what he could do to give to the homeless community. His first goal was to purchase and distribute blankets & pillows in the West Brisbane area. Over the coming months we talked about how he could raise money, and what planning and preparation needed to take place in order for it to work. Ever since, Ashton has spent his days coming up with different 'event ideas'.
Each event requires 'business brain' and so he has learned what it takes in every element of what we are doing. For example, behind the scenes; the things the public don't see us do or hear about, physically washing cars and talking to affiliates, shopping for and distributing blankets, packaging up care packs, driving around in search of people in need, handing out items and chatting to people. At any given time we are either holding a fundraiser or planning one and always out asking for donations. For this reason, we have officially registered Homeless Helpers as a Not for Profit Organisation. This was a super proud moment for us and will hopefully encourage Ashton further with the opportunity to grow & support a larger region of people. People have been asking 'How do I donate if I can't make it to your fundraiser?" Well, let me tell you, we are always accepting donations via our website homelesshelpers.org you can choose which cause you would like your donation to be attributed to and place it in memory or honour of another. To speed up the reason for our existence you can donate directly

* Sleeping bags, light weight but warm blankets & small pillows
* Hand towels & Tea towels in good condition
* Survival blankets
* Shampoo, body wash & soaps
* Deodorants, perfume & make up
* Ladies sanitary items
* Mens shavers
* Lotions, potions & creams (depp heat, savlon, betadine etc)
* Small bags for bagging all these items (library bag size or similar
