🐀 A "dead rat smell" that turned out to be way bigger than one rat.

A Southport office called us in a panic. Bad smell, and staff swore they could hear rats moving inside the walls. We were there within 2 hours.

Turns out the smell was coming from a dead rat stuck inside a wall cavity we couldn't reach without tearing into the building. But that wasn't even the real problem…

We found fresh droppings ALL through the roof space. The dead rat was just one of many still active in there. 😬

Treated everything we could access, set up rodent control on the spot, and now working through a full building treatment.

Moral of the story: finding one dead rat doesn't mean you're in the clear. If you're still hearing scratching or smelling something, chances are there's more happening than you think.

🐀 Bad smell at a shared property? That’s not the kind of “common area” anyone wants.

Another commercial dead animal removal and rodent control service completed at a body corporate-managed property in Tallebudgera.

Our technician located and removed the deceased animal from the affected area before carrying out sanitation and odour treatment to help manage contamination and smell.

During the inspection, signs of ongoing rodent activity were also identified, so a targeted rodent control treatment was carried out to help reduce further activity around the property.

Our technician inspected accessible areas for droppings, scratching activity, nesting evidence and common rodent travel paths before carrying out targeted rodent treatment.

🐀 Found the smell… but the dead rat decided to die in the one place nobody can actually reach.

Another dead animal treatment recently completed in Carrara after a deceased rat was located inside a physically inaccessible area of the property.

Unfortunately, not every dead animal can simply be picked up and removed. When a carcass is trapped deep inside a wall cavity or another inaccessible space, opening up the building can sometimes cause more damage than the original problem.

So no… we didn’t just spray some air freshener and hope for the best. 😅

Our technician accessed the affected area as closely as possible and carried out a specialised treatment using decomposition neutraliser and deodorising products to help break down the odour while the carcass naturally decomposes.

The surrounding affected areas were also treated to help control:

Another wasp removal recently completed in Carrara after active wasp activity was found around the property.

Wasps often build nests in sheltered areas such as roof edges, eaves, fences, sheds, wall gaps, and garden structures. The problem is, once the nest is disturbed, they can become very defensive very quickly.
