π©· A Little Reminder That Cleaners Are Human Too.
As many of you already know, Happy Home Clean Co is a one person business. It's just me!
I'm the person answering your messages, organising appointments, travelling between jobs, managing the business and, of course, cleaning your homes.
But outside of cleaning, I'm also a mum to one human and three cats. π
I have a household to run, a home of my own to clean, family responsibilities, appointments, unexpected car troubles, health concerns and all the other things that come with everyday life.
I'm also a single income household. Every bill, every expense and every financial responsibility falls 100% on me.
I'm not sharing that for sympathy. I'm sharing it because sometimes I think people forget that the person cleaning their home has an entire life and responsibilities outside of their working hours, just like everyone else.
And this doesn't just apply to me. It applies to cleaners everywhere.
We all have families, responsibilities, financial pressures and personal challenges. We're people first, and cleaners second.
Sometimes life throws something unexpected our way, and unfortunately, that can mean having to cancel or reschedule a cleaning appointment.
Please understand that cancelling or rescheduling is never a decision I make lightly.
When you're self-employed, cancelling a job isn't an exciting opportunity to have the day off. It means losing income. Income that pays the rent, puts food on the table and keeps the bills paid.
Believe me, I'd much rather be working and earning that money!
I completely understand that clients book a cleaner for a reason. You have busy lives, responsibilities and commitments of your own, and I genuinely respect that.
But sometimes circumstances arise that are simply beyond our control.
Whether it's a sick child, an unwell pet, a medical issue, a car breaking down or an unexpected family situation, there are times when being there just isn't possible.
And that's where a little kindness, patience and understanding can make such a difference.
Cleaners aren't just mops or scrubbing brushes with faces. We're human beings.
We have good days, difficult days, families who depend on us, bills that don't stop coming and lives that don't always go according to plan.
I take pride in the work I do, and I genuinely appreciate every client who chooses to support my little business.
All I ask is that when life occasionally gets in the way, you remember there's a real person behind that cleaning appointment.
A little understanding goes a long way, not just for me, but for every hardworking cleaner out there. π©·
