UNWRITTEN RULES OF A LAUNDROMAT
1.Be Punctual: Keep track of your wash and dry cycles. Remove your clothes as soon as they are finished so others can use the machines.
2.The "Finished Cycle" Rule: If you are waiting for a machine and someone else's cycle has completely finished but they aren't around, it is generally acceptable to respectfully remove their clothes and place them in a clean laundry basket or on a folding table.
3.First in, Best Dressed: You cannot "shotgun" or reserve a machine. It is strictly first-come, first-served.
4.Don't Overload or Over-soap: Use the recommended amount of detergent (often less than you think!) to prevent suds overflowing and damaging the machines. Don't stuff the machine past its capacity.
5. Clean Up After Yourself: Throw away your empty detergent bottles, wipe up any liquid spills, and always clean the lint trap out of the dryer when you are finished.
6.Use Pet Machines for Pet Gear: Many Australian laundromats have dedicated machines for pet blankets and beds. Always use these instead of the regular machines to help out people with allergies.
7.If you notice a machine is broken, be sure to report it to the owners via the provided phone number or QR code.
Happy washing!
