Some Exciting News as "Big things are happening at Your Local Horrible Job Company!

Yesterday, we officially collected the keys to our brand-new Training Hub and Pre-Loved with Purpose Boutique — and we couldn't be more excited to share this journey with you.

What you're seeing right now is a sneak peek before the transformation begins. This strip is about to become something truly special — a place where people can learn, grow, gain confidence, develop employment skills, and feel connected to their community.

Our vision has always been simple: a helping hand up, not a handout.

Our new space will provide hands-on training opportunities for people living with disabilities, job seekers, young people, and anyone looking for support to take their next step forward.

And downstairs, our Pre-Loved with Purpose Boutique will give quality donated items a second chance while helping create meaningful training and employment pathways for our participants.

Over the coming days you'll see the paint go up, the shelves go in, the donations arrive, and the vision come to life.

This is more than just a shop.

So grateful to be part of a space that truly backs people with barriers — not just in words, but in action.

This weekend wasn’t just a camp…
It was firsts.
First time camping for some.
First time working together as a team.
First time stepping outside the comfort of their own four walls.

And what we saw? 🔥
Connection. Growth. Courage.

Watching individuals step into something bigger than themselves — building independence, confidence, and belonging — that’s what it’s all about.

No pressure. Just support.
No judgment. Just opportunity.
No limits. Just possibility.

Proud of every single person who showed up, gave it a go, and leaned in.
This is how change starts — one step, one moment, one weekend at a time.

A reminder from today…

So many of us take the simple things for granted…Like walking out the front door, catching a bus, or jumping on a train.

But for someone living with anxiety, or navigating high support needs —
that “simple” task can feel overwhelming.

Today was a powerful reminder for me.

Before we even get to employment, work experience, or training…
we’re starting with the foundations:

✔️ Getting up and ready for the day
✔️ Personal grooming
✔️ Leaving the house on time
✔️ Walking to the bus stop
✔️ Catching public transport
✔️ Entering public spaces

Each step is BIG.
Each step takes courage.
Each step deserves to be celebrated 👏

What I’ve learned?
This journey isn’t one-sided.

While I’m here to support, guide, and mentor…I’m also being taught something just as powerful — patience.

There’s a real two-way exchange happening here.
Growth on both sides.

Seven years ago today, I pulled an all nighter, coming up with a one page Buisness Plan scribble.

I remember clearly, telling myself, self, no more shift work, no more working weekends & definitely no more working public holidays. I told myself how I wanted to start after 9am and be home by 2pm - Monday to Friday.

I created a Buisness Name, my neice helped me with a Logo and so 3.30am on the 9th May 2016, I published my first ad on social media.

7am that morning, I recieved my very first response. My very first client who also bought in 7 other clients by the end of that week.

Since then we’ve been on a seven-year journey that I have always described as a 'Helping Hand Up' & Not 'A Hand Out'. A Genuine Heart for people & families first before profit.

Today, Your Local Horrible Job Company would like to wish all our valued clients and customers, a day full of laughter and happiness. It's been an amazing 7 years together.

To all our valued staff, internal & external commercial & residential customers

I am so excited to announce that I made a decision at the start of the year to sell the Commercial & Residential area of 'Your Local Horrible Job Company. Our last day of that side of the business was 9th January 2023.

The decision to sell, was not an easy one to make, however, It also is definitely not a regretful sale as it will continue on in Greatness with the changing of hands and fresh eyes. In fact, absolutely perfect timing to move our Buisness Model into a new direction which will open up many doors not only for us, but also for others.

Over the 6 years of operating as a Buisness Owner, I enjoyed the relationships with our customers and especially loved the fact that our buinsess created job opportunities and opened doorways for the many that worked for and alongside Your Local Horrible Job Company.

I take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and employees of Your Local Horrible Job Company that I have done business with over the years. Your Local Horrible Job Company could not have been as successful as it was without your support and loyalty.
