This is the sediment from a three stage whole house system in Swan View after four months.

We recommend changing this cartridge frequently over the year.
This prevents dirt, dust, rust, and large particles going through to the next two cartridges.
These two cartridges are Resin (water softener) & Heavy Metal (conditioner).
In the absence of dirt, dust, rust & large particles, they are able to do the job they are designed to do, for 12 months.

It is false economy to reneg on changing the sediment cartridge every 3-4 months in WA!
