Canberra's warming up, which means the ceiling fans and air conditioner are about to get a workout.

Before you switch them on for the season, give them a quick clean:
Slide an old pillowcase over each fan blade and pull it back, so the dust ends up inside the pillowcase, not on you
Take out the air con filters, vacuum or rinse them, and let them dry fully before they go back in
Wipe down the vents and the front of the unit

Clean filters help the system work properly and stop dust blowing around the room.

Warmer days are finally showing up in Canberra, so it's a good time to get the outdoor area ready for summer.

A few jobs worth doing this weekend:
Hose down and scrub the outdoor furniture
Sweep cobwebs from eaves, light fittings and the corners of the deck
Clean the barbecue grill while it's still warm after a cook
Give the sliding door tracks a vacuum and wipe
