"We just got back from holidays... and honestly, we're not even unpacking the washing." 😂🧳
That's exactly what one of our customers did this week.
They wheeled their suitcase straight into the laundrette and said, "Screw it, I'm not even emptying it. I'll just bring it to the ladies at the laundry!"
And you know what? We completely get it.
After a holiday, the last thing anyone feels like doing is tackling a mountain of washing. So leave it in the suitcase, bring it to us, and we'll wash, dry and fold it all for you. You can unpack the clean clothes instead. ✨
Sometimes working smarter really is the best option. 💙

The response to our recent post about my parents helping out at the shop was so lovely, and it reminded me that this story goes back a lot further than just one generation.

These photos were taken back in 1994 while Mum and Dad were setting up our original Sutherland store.

My grandfather was there laying the carpet tiles, helping bring their dream to life one piece at a time. My grandmother was there too, keeping Mum company through the long days of getting everything ready to open.

Looking back, it makes me realise that parents never really stop being parents. Whether you're helping your children build a business, move house, raise a family or simply keeping them company when they need it most, the desire to be there for them never goes away.

Thirty plus years later, my own parents are still turning up to help me when I need them. Different Generation but the same love ❤

We feel incredibly lucky that Sutherland Shire Laundrette has been built on more than just hard work. It's been built on family, support and generations of people showing up for the ones they love.

Thank you Mum, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa. ❤️

How did we get so lucky to have the most amazing customers? 🥹💙

Some people are lucky enough to have parents who are always there, no matter how old they are. Tonight was another reminder of just how blessed I am.
A huge thank you to Mum and Dad for coming in to help me tonight. Not only did they lend a hand, but they also didn't want me to be at the shop on my own after dark. Even as an adult, they still make sure I'm safe and looked after.
People often say that once your children grow up, your job as a parent is done. I couldn't disagree more. A parent's love, care and instinct to protect their children never fades, no matter how old they are.
Thank you both for always showing up, for always putting family first, and for loving us the way you do. I don't ever take it for granted. We love you both more than words can say. ❤️
