An Unattended Death Clean up is a Complex and Difficult Situation
An unattended death can occur as the result of a crime, accident, su***de, or other trauma. Sometimes the death can go undiscovered for an extended amount of time.
When the body is discovered, it is a difficult situation for the family, and it is equally challenging to do the clean up.
The human body begins to decay very quickly after death, and if left for days or weeks, widespread biohazard contamination will occur including large amounts of body fluid leaching into the flooring, walls, sub-flooring and furnishings. Additionally, an infestation of insects such as flies and cockroaches will occur and lay their eggs in and around the decomposing body.
Decomposing bodies pose several health risks and by nature are disturbing. If the body is left to decompose, biological material will emanate from it and turn into a serious health hazard in the home. In addition, corpses produce airborne bacteria that not only have an unpleasant smell but are a health threat as well.
An unattended death cleanup job is one of the most challenging jobs we take on, but we take satisfaction in our ability to help restore even unimaginable situations to a safe condition.
Please do not put yourself in harm’s way by attempting an unattended cleanup on your own.
