Friday night storytime 📖
When my now husband and I were planning our wedding, we decided we were going to use his old school Nissan Skyline as our wedding car, so on the week of our wedding last month, we decided to give it a thorough detail together. We spent all day on it - cleaned the interior, exterior, wheels and tyres, completed iron removal, bug removal, polished the chrome, waxed the paint and cleaned the glass until it was looking immaculate. The night before the wedding, my husband went to leave home to go to his hotel for the night, only to discover smoke coming out from the bonnet and that one of the coils was glowing. Now, being that there were only a few thousand of this car made, getting parts for it especially on short notice is pretty tough. So after hours of trying to find someone in Victoria who had the part, he finally found someone up in Melbourne that had one. He drove his other car to Melbourne and collected the part, then back down to Geelong and fitted the part and went to take off to the hotel again only for the exact same thing to happen all over again. We were very lucky that my father in law had just purchased a bright purple '32 Ford Hotrod the week beforehand which just happened to match my hair so it all worked out in the end!
At the end of the day it just means my husband has a clean car and one day we have a story to tell the grandkids - hopefully they will love cars as much as we do! 🏎️
