Over the weekend I put some time into tuning a setting for stripping paint from fibreglass body work without damaging the gel coat or fibreglass part .
I was stripping a fibreglass hood scoop which had black paint and clear coat .
The scoop had a damaged spot before I began the laser stripping process but no further damage was caused or uncovered on the top surface.
The pulse laser removed all paint leaving the surface ready for a sand then and prime .

Laser stripping Fibreglass body kit

Over the weekend I put some time into tuning a setting for stripping paint from fibreglass body work without damaging the gel coat or fibreglass part .

Vn Commodore starter refurbished

Today was cleaning of a vn commodore’s automatic starter motor.
This starter covered in light surface rust and oil and some original paint .
The only cleaning done was with the light
From my pulse laser which stripped it all back in the matter of minutes .

Laser machines are efficient at removing grease and oil from the surface by superheating it turning it to dust thus removing contamination making the substrate clean and contaminant free ready for paint or powder coating .

Cleaning of intercoolers and radiators can be tricky, even a high pressure washer can bend the small fins resulting in a fully damaged core .
Even though this core originally had some bent core fins due to its many years of operation in the front of a vehicle cleaning with a laser demonstrates no additional damage occurs .

The benefit of cleaning with light is the ability to clean components that have rugged construction with more delicate infills like intercoolers and radiators .
Pulse lasers have a greater flexibility allowing a more Gental cleaning approach on thin aluminium surface like cooling fins but powerful enough to remove the paint and grim coatings covering there surfaces.
It is even possible to clean some of the internal surfaces .

The light energy strips away the old paint oil and grim leaving a clean undamaged surface ready for painting, if required.

Cleaning of car parts such as brake callipers can be done fully assembled allowing you to keep the unit internally dust and contaminate free meaning it can be externally cleaned and painted without the need of removing brake piston, seals and even the brake line can remain saving time and effort if they don’t require replacement .
