This morning we had the pleasure of attending the Master Plumbers Association of Queensland annual Industry Breakfast, to celebrate World Plumbing Day 2026. 🪠🪠

It was great to see our industry get behind MPAQ’s 2026 Charity Partner - the Leukaemia Foundation, raising funds for vital support services. An extra special mention for the beautiful Deb, one of MPAQ’s very own ~ who bravely volunteered to shave her locks! 💇‍♀️

We feel so honoured to have been part of the experience and incredibly proud to be part of an industry that supports its community. 👏💙

The plumber you engage must either hold both an Occupational Licence & a Contractor's Licence, or be employed by a Company/Business that holds a Contractor's Licence.‼️

🧑🏼‍🔧Hiring a licensed plumber in Queensland isn't just recommended – it's essential for your protection. Licensed professionals have the proper training, insurance, and accountability to handle your plumbing needs safely and effectively. 👩🏻‍🔧

Hiring an unlicensed plumber could:
❌ Void your insurance coverage
❌ Void warranties
❌ Pose risks to you/your family's health & safety
❌ Leave you open to legal ramifications, particularly with noncompliance around local council codes, or where damages occur

Here's how to verify a plumbing business is properly licensed:
✅ Check the QBCC (Queensland Building and Construction Commission) website
✅ Ask to see their license card (these can also be digital now!) before work begins
✅ Verify their license number matches their business name
✅ Ensure their license covers the specific work you need (Gas, for example, is a whole separate license)
