Schedorhinotermes intermedius

This is a major pest species found along the eastern coast of Australia. If you come across swarming termites, it is a good indication that there is a large termite colony nearby. Subterranean termites cause more damage to homes in Australia than storms, tempests, floods and fires combined.

Schedorhinotermes Intermedius are a very damaging skittish species and care must be taken so as not to disturb them during treatment. Otherwise they will simply relocate elsewhere within the property.

Funnel-Web season! With recent rain Funnel-Webs thrive in these conditions.

Please familiarise yourself and family with first aid for spider bites and be prepared with bandages and techniques.

Whilst alive, Funnel-webs are milked for venom and over the past few years drop-off numbers have decreased. We encourage customers to not kill funnel-web spiders that you encounter but instead follow safety guidelines online to capture the spider and hand them into the Australian Reptile Park or participating drop-off centres.
