Oh I would have loved to have met this little Tweed Coast tourist over the weekend 🦭😻

We’re so lucky to have a very special visitor here in the Tweed! 🦭💚

A juvenile Australian fur seal has been spotted resting at Hastings Point. While this is a very special moment, the best way we can help is by giving it the space it needs to rest undisturbed.

If you spot the seal:
🦭 Stay at least 40 metres away.
🐕 Keep dogs on a leash and well clear of the animal.
👀 Watch quietly from a distance.
🚫 Never touch, feed or approach the seal.
📸 Keep drones at least 100 metres away and do not hover over or near the seal.

If the seal appears injured, unwell or in need of assistance, please contact the amazing team at ORRCA | Org. for the Rescue & Research of Cetaceans in Australia , who are monitoring the seal and operate a 24/7 Rescue Hotline.

By working together, we can all do our part to protect our incredible wildlife and ensure special visitors like this young seal can rest safely before continuing their journey. 💚

Just using what she already had, in a way that actually makes sense.
