Congratulations again to Walking Fish Productions. What a way to go into Christmas.

WE WON AN AWARD! We're a little late to celebrate, but Clean (aka The Cleaning Company) has taken out Best Documentary Programme (One Off) at the Asian Academy Creative Awards. The award was announced on December 7, and came after winning Australia's selection for the category in October. Special shout out to Lachie's in-laws for picking up the trophy, and modelling it so brilliantly for us!

Congrats as well to our co-producers Good Thing Productions and SBS Australia. We'd also like to thank our supporters, including Screen Australia, VicScreen, Madman Films and all the talented people who helped bring our film to life. And of course, we wouldn't be here without the amazing team at STC Services, and Sandra's remarkable and inspiring story.

One of the many jobs we do at STC is Intensive Cleans on hoarding. Hoarding is a very complex condition and is very common. Hoarding disorder often starts early in life. It is associated with some personality traits, such as perfectionism, not being able to make decisions and procrastination (delaying tasks until later, often by finding distractions). Perfectionism in hoarding is associated with fear of making mistakes and of later regret.

This can sneak under the radar of family and friends, and when discovered can be overwhelming and not quite know where to start. That’s where the incredible team at STC were assigned this job of clearing through parts of this property to help the resident (in a wheel chair from a stroke) get back on top of things. Sometimes a little head start like this can be life changing.

STC strive to take away any shame or awkwardness and give people the assistance they need. As our founder Sandra Pankhurst repeatedly said “Life can change, just like that”…

The STC Crew got together to raise some much needed funds for one of our own.

Mandy lost her belongings in a devastating house fire recently and lost everything.

Thanks to the crew at Scotty’s Garage who held the gathering, and all the incredible people that donated. It was a great day together getting behind a very valued employee.

We hope this helps Mandy and her family get back on their feet. If you would like to donate please pop your name in the comments and we will reach out to you.
