Chemicals are important, but they’re not always the whole solution. If your pump run time is too low, your chlorinator output is still turned down from winter, your filter needs cleaning, or your pool isn’t circulating properly, the water may not clear as expected.

Noticed stains, marks or discolouration in your pool over winter?

Now is a good time to have them checked before the weather heats back up and swimming season gets busier.

Pool stains can be caused by leaves, organic debris, metals, minerals, rust, algae residue, poor water balance or dirt settling on the pool surface. Different stains need different treatment, so it’s best to test the water and seek advice before adding chemicals.

Stain removal can also affect chlorine levels, which is one reason it is often easier to manage during the cooler months while pools are being used less.
