Landholders may be seeing more foxes around as young independent kits leave the dens to find their own territories.

This is the perfect time for control as younger foxes are less suspicious and experienced.

Landholders within the PHBG operational area can loan equipment at no charge from the PHBG to assist in the control and management of foxes.

Interested? take a look at the Equipment Services page on the PHBG website and fill in the EOI form. The PHBG Equipment Officer will be in touch to discuss options.

Did you know that foxes can eat fruits and vegetables?

Early autumn sees young foxes leaving the den and travelling across the land to find their own territory. Relatively inexperienced hunters, they now need to hunt for their own food.

Keep an eye out around the veggie patch for footprints!
This is also a reminder for us all to be vigilant with locking up the chook yard to keep our egg-laying friends safe.

PHBG Field Officer Kim is on the road today delivering fox cage traps to landholders to two properties in the Shire of Murray. Young foxes generally haven't encountered a fox trap before, and a seasonal opportunity exists now to trap a naive young fox.

If you know or suspect that foxes are moving across your property, now is a great time to request a loan of a fox cage trap by visiting https://www.phbg.org/equipment-services.

As with all PHBG equipment, fox cage traps are delivered to and collected from properties within the Peel-Harvey region at no cost, with a friendly smile.
