As we approach our first year in business, I've realised that every single vehicle I work on teaches me something new.
One of the winners of our Mother's Day raffle brought in their Toyota RAV4, and it turned into a valuable learning experience. During the detail, I discovered that not all interior materials respond to cleaning in the same way. Many newer Toyotas, Hyundais, and Mazdas use extremely soft dashboard materials that can mark much more easily than expected, so for anyone reading this when cleaning your dashboard areas never use a dry cloth of any sort always dampen the clothes first this will help prevent marking those areas.
I pride myself on being honest with my customers, and if something doesn't go to plan, I'll always own it and do everything I can to make it right. After a few weeks of working through the issue, we were able to restore the dashboard to a condition we're very happy with.
This experience has taught me even more about the wide range of materials used in modern vehicles and has helped me become a better detailer because of it.
