How is dishwashing liquid related to fleas? Oats to Arthritis? Or nail polish to screws?

Here are some interesting uses for common household pantry and cupboard items.

1. Dishwashing liquid can kill fleas
Add a few drops to your dogs bath and shampoo them thoroughly.

2. Horse radish and olive oil can cure achy muscles
Mix I tablespoon of horseradish and 1 cup of olive oil. Let sit for 30 minutes then massage the oil on achy muscles for instant relief.

3. Vinegar and honey can fix sore throats
Mix a ¼ cup of vinegar and ¼ cup of honey. Ingest 1 table spoon 6 times per day.

4. Honey and a band-aid can heal blemishes
Cover the Blemish with a dab of honey and place a band aid over it over night.
The honey kills the bacteria as well as keeping the skin sterile oh and speeds up the healing process!

5. Nail polish stops spectacle screws from loosening.
Apply a small drop of clear nail polish to the threads of the screws before tightening them again.

6. All purpose cleaners kills flying insects.
Ran out of bug spray? Simply spray all purpose cleaner solution directly on flying insects.

7. Glue gets splinters out!
Got a nasty splinter? Pour glue onto the affected spot, let dry and peel the glue off.

8. Vinegar helps to heal bruises and relieves sunburn
Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply it to bruises for 1 hour. It is said that Vinegar reduces the blue and speeds the healing process up.
For sunburn apply directly onto the affected area

9. Oats can relieve arthritis pain.
If you have or know someone with Arthritis try this cost effective therapy!
Mix 2 cups of oats and 1 cup of water in a bowl and microwave for 1 minute, cool slightly and apply the mixture to your hands for relief.

WD-40 can be found in nearly every garage of Australia, but did you know it's just as handy around the home as it is in the garage?

It has over 2000+ uses some of my favourite are:
Polishing steel appliances
Cleaning shower screens
Removes permanent texter from most surfaces
Removes temporary tattoos from the little ones (or big ones if they are into that sort of thing!)
And removes scuff marks.

Interesting Fact:
WD-40 (Water Displacement 40th attempt) was developed in 1953 by the Rocket Chemical Company in California, to prevent the outer skin of the Atlas Missile from rust and corrosion.

Pretty handy, pretty bad-ass.

If it's not the money, it's the health risk that you should be concerned about when buying, using or storing cleaning products. Especially for children or adults with respiratory issues.

There are brilliant natural alternatives too expensive, unhealthy chemical options.

In the bathroom and kitchen you can clean tiles, bench tops and remove bacteria with simple ingredients around your home.

1. Baking Soda and Water: Dust surfaces with baking soda, then scrub with a moist sponge or cloth. If you have tougher grime, sprinkle on some natural salt, and work up some elbow grease.

2. Lemon Juice or Vinegar: If you have stains, mildew or grease streaks you can spray or douse them with lemon juice or vinegar. Let sit a few minutes, then scrub with a stiff brush.

3. Disinfectant: Instead of bleach, make your own disinfectant by mixing 2 cups of water, 3 tablespoons of liquid soap and 20 to 30 drops of tea tree oil. It's easy and kind of fun!
