I’ll be honest here. In the cleaning industry. We just can’t please everyone! Sometimes, no matter how hard you work, it still isn’t enough for some people 😪

This 3 bed 2 bath 🛀🏻 bond clean was completed in a property that was in poor condition on arrival (I’ll let you guys decide) Hours of hard work, attention to detail & physical labour went into bringing this home back up to a standard suitable for handover, I’ll admit, I told the client it may not come up amazing but I’ll bloody try.

Unfortunately, not once was there a thank you for the transformation. Instead, the focus was placed on a couple of minor dust spots and some mould behind a few shutters (mind you these shutters were absolutely covered in mould & were so many shutters to clean individually) while completely overlooking the massive difference made throughout the rest of the property & even asked for a large refund.

As cleaners, we are human. We take pride in our work & always do our absolute best, but we’re not magicians. When a home is in poor condition, we can achieve amazing results, but expecting absolute perfection in every single corner while ignoring the overall transformation isn’t always fair.

One of the hardest parts of running a cleaning business is having to tell a client on arrival that additional charges may apply due to the condition of the property.

We charge our bond cleans based on house size, but we’ve always been upfront that if a property is significantly worse than expected, extra charges may be necessary. Unfortunately, we simply can’t physically attend every property beforehand to provide an in person quote. Many people request quotes & never proceed, so it’s not practical for us to spend hours travelling to inspect every property.

Sometimes I’m also the middle person between the client & one of my girls. If one of my team members is on site working incredibly hard & discovers the property requires substantially more work than anticipated, it’s my responsibility to make sure they’re paid fairly for the extra time & effort they’re putting in & also if I’m doing the clean myself.

What can also be frustrating is when a property is in extremely poor condition, we’ve spent hours, blood, sweat & tears bringing it back to standard & then someone focuses on one tiny specks of dust or a minor details & demands a substantial refund. We’re cleaners, not magicians. We can only work with the condition we’re presented with.

If a real estate agent identifies anything that genuinely needs attention, we are more than happy to return & rectify it as per our bond clean guarantee. That’s what the guarantee is there for. But there’s a big difference between a legitimate issue & expecting perfection in a property that required an enormous amount of restoration work.

We pride ourselves on being fair, transparent, & doing our absolute best every single time. We don’t enjoy charging extras & we certainly don’t enjoy difficult conversations, but we also need to ensure our team & myself are paid appropriately for the work we perform.

Another day, another happy client & another bond clean ⭐️🧼🙌🏼

Today i completed a 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom bond clean in Upper Kedron for Forty4 Projects 🏠

This wasn’t just an inside clean either, i tackled the outside too, including the weatherboards & exterior glass, bringing the entire property back to a high standard & ready for its new occupants.

To all the cleaners, tradies, support workers & small business owners out there who have copped abuse while simply trying to do their job! I see you 😔

Today was a reminder that cleaners don’t just deal with dirt & dust & sometimes we deal with being treated terribly too 😔

This afternoon, I was left in tears after being verbally abused by a property owner regarding a clean i completed. I was called lazy, useless, a thief, rubbish & told my business was “piss”.
Despite the tenant being happy with the clean, & despite me offering to return & not being able to address any concerns, the abuse continued.

What people don’t always see behind the scenes is that cleaners are human. We work long hours, often on our feet all day, doing our absolute best for our clients. We take pride in our work, and most of us genuinely care about the people we clean for.

Constructive feedback is always welcome. Abuse is not.

Sometimes there is a reason tenants choose to move on from a property, and today I got a glimpse of that firsthand!

This man believes he is leaving reviews!! So anyone see’s them please believe i tried fixing the issue. (Mind you it was over some dust I couldn’t reach)

Tomorrow is a new day, and I’ll keep showing up, doing what i do best, and treating people with kindness, even when it isn’t returned 😔🩷

Today myself & my daughter completed a 4 bed 1 study 2 bath 🛀🏻 bond clean for one of my lovely repeat clients 🏠⭐️

We recently cleaned for her & when it came time to book her bond clean, she trusted us once again to get the job done. There really is no bigger compliment than a returning client who has confidence in our work and knows they’ll be looked after every time 🙌🏼

Bond cleans are one of the most detailed & physically demanding cleans we do & today was no exception. By the end of it, my arthritis had definitely flared up & my hands & legs are paying the price this evening!

Some days running a cleaning business while dealing with chronic pain isn’t easy, but I genuinely love what I do. No matter how sore & tired I am, I take pride in making sure every home is cleaned to the highest standard possible 🥹
