We know this is everyone's worst nightmare, cockroaches and lots of them!!!! But how well does our pest management system work when you have these kinds of results!!! Large hardware store bought products quite simply cannot deliver these kinds of results.

You will be surprised by how inexpensive a pest management schedule is when you compare the cost to benefit analysis, lots of dead cockroaches OR lots of live cockroaches, the decision is up to you.

Come across these little terrors on a job recently, Cone Head Termites also known as Nasutitermes corniger, are a species of termites. This tree had sustained considerable damage and we advised the owner to contact an arborist to determine the viability of the tree.

They are named for their distinctive cone-shaped heads, which are used to spray a defensive chemical called naphthalene (moth ball) when threatened.

Unlike other subterranean termite species, cone head termites do not require direct contact with soil and are known for building large, above-ground nests made of carton, a mixture of f***l matter, soil, and saliva. These nests can be found in trees, buildings, and other structures, and can cause significant damage if left untreated.

Just another species to be on the lookout for, termites are not always white.

Here is a look inside what a termite baiting system consists of, we use BASF Trelona IGR as it is the best in the business, with extensive research & development from an international chemical company with a very well know brand Bayer BASF.
Now in a stabilised cartridge form, this IGR-Insect Growth Regulator works by sacrificial timber in the station attracting the termites where they feed on the cartridge and return to the colony. A very simple but very effective solution for your home or business. We are both Termidor & Trelona Accredited Installers.

Another post about the Australian Paper WaspšŸ. I don't think that there is anyone in Australia that doesn't respect these little flying assassins, they strike fear into the most courageous of us all. It's not too often you get this close to them, without an aerosol can and a lighteršŸ”„šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

The Australian paper wasp (Polistes humilis) is a species of wasp that is native to Australia. It belongs to the family Vespidae, which includes other social wasps such as yellow jackets and hornets. Australian paper wasps are known for their striking appearance, with distinct black and yellow markings on their bodies.

Here are some key characteristics of Australian paper wasps:

Appearance: Australian paper wasps have a slender body with a characteristic "waist" between the thorax and abdomen. They are typically black or dark brown with yellow markings on their abdomen and thorax. The markings can vary in pattern and intensity, but usually consist of yellow stripes or spots.

Social Behavior: Australian paper wasps are social insects that live in colonies. A typical colony consists of a queen, who is the reproductive female, and a number of female workers. The workers are responsible for foraging for food, building the nest, and taking care of the young. Australian paper wasps are not as aggressive as some other wasp species and are generally less likely to sting unless they feel threatened.

Nest Construction: Australian paper wasps construct small, papery nests made from plant fibers mixed with their saliva. The nests are usually umbrella-shaped and consist of open hexagonal cells arranged in a single layer. They are attached to a surface such as a tree branch, eave, or fence.

Diet: Australian paper wasps are carnivorous and feed primarily on insects, including caterpillars, flies, and spiders. They also consume nectar from flowers, which provides them with a source of carbohydrates.

Sting: Like other wasps, Australian paper wasps have a stinger and are capable of stinging humans and other animals. However, they are generally not aggressive towards humans unless they feel threatened or their nest is disturbed. The sting of an Australian paper wasp can be painful and may cause localized swelling, redness, and itching.

Ecological Role: Australian paper wasps are considered beneficial insects as they help control populations of other insects, particularly pest species. They are also important pollinators as they feed on nectar from flowers.
It's important to exercise caution around Australian paper wasps and their nests, and to avoid disturbing them as they can sting if they feel threatened. If you encounter a nest on your property or in a public area, it's best to contact a pest control professional or a local beekeeper for safe removal. As with any insect, it's always a good idea to observe them from a safe distance and respect their natural behavior in their environment. So, it's better to appreciate the role of Australian paper wasps in their ecosystem and not disturb them unnecessarily. Remember, wasps play an important role in controlling other insect populations and contribute to the balance of ecosystems. Always exercise caution and respect when interacting with any wildlife. If you are allergic to wasp stings or have concerns about wasps on your property, it's best to seek professional advice or assistance. Safety should always be a priority when dealing with stinging insects. And remember, never attempt to remove a wasp nest on your own unless you have the proper training and equipment. Leave it to the professionals! Stay safe and enjoy the beauty of nature. In conclusion, Australian paper wasps are fascinating insects that play an important role in their ecosystem, and understanding their behavior and characteristics can help promote coexistence and appreciation of these beneficial insects. So, keep your distance, respect their space, and enjoy observing these unique wasps in their natural habitat! Remember, always exercise caution and respect when interacting with any wildlife, including Australian paper wasps. Stay safe and enjoy the beauty of nature!
