(BBI) was formed and operates under the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007 (BAM Act) to manage declared plant and animal pests within the Blackwood Valley. The principle is that biosecurity is a shared responsibility. Blackwood Biosecurity hopes to motivate management actions across the shire. Community engagement with a majority of Landholders, Industry Stakeholders, Local and State
Government will be the key to success. OUR VISION
That declared pests have little or no economic, environmental or social impact in the Blackwood Biosecurity Inc. operational area, and all landholders and managers adopt declared pest control as a shared responsibility and integral part of land management. Blackwood Biosecurity will foster an informed community equipped for early identification and management of declared pests.
