Honestly just want to say a massive thank you to the team on this one.

This wasn't a straightforward job. Veterinary Emergency Care Australia is a full clinical fitout — surgical rooms, animal wards, CT room, ICU, the lot. Every room had specific requirements and the team handled every single one without being told twice.

There were moments in this job that required real care and attention — surfaces that couldn't be touched the wrong way, medical installations that had to be worked around, areas that needed a completely different approach from what we'd do in a standard commercial space.

When we do a first clean at a new client's office, we always do a walk-through before we start.

Not to judge the previous cleaner. Just to know what we're actually dealing with.

Here's what we find almost every time.

The visible surfaces are fine. Desks wiped. Floor vacuumed. Bins emptied.

Then we check the spots that don't get done when someone is cutting corners on time.

Inside the microwave. Under the lip of the kitchen bench. The base of the toilet where the floor meets the ceramic. The underside of the door handle nearest the bathroom. The grout lines in the shower if there is one. The top edges of the skirting boards in the corridor.

Every single time — without exception — at least three of those six spots have not been properly cleaned in weeks.

Not months. Weeks.

The office looked clean. Parts of it weren't.

That's what a drift in cleaning standard looks like from the inside. Surfaces that get visited. Spots that get skipped. A gap between what was agreed and what's actually happening that nobody catches until someone does a proper walk-through.

We do that walk-through on day one. And then we document every visit after that so the standard stays where it should be.

Most offices in Western Sydney aren't being cleaned badly.

There's a difference.

A bad clean is obvious. You see it. You raise it. It gets fixed.

Inconsistency is harder to catch. The standard is fine on Tuesday. Slips on Thursday. Back again by Monday. Good enough that you don't say anything. Not good enough that you stop noticing.

And over time — the kitchen gets a little stickier. The bathroom floor gets a little longer between proper mops. The bins get emptied but the liners stop getting replaced. Nothing dramatic. Just a slow drift away from the standard you thought you signed up for.

That's the one that costs you. Not the bad clean. The slow drift nobody catches until a client walks in on the wrong day.

Not to raise a problem. Just to tell us something.
