This one's fresh off the tools. 👀

19–25 Ascot Street, Canley Heights. Brand new residential apartment complex — multi-storey, multiple buildings, still got the construction fencing up and excavators working next door.

This is what we get called in for after the builders hand over the keys. The building looks finished from the street. Step inside and it's a different story — construction dust on every surface, residue on windows and glass balustrades, debris in every corner, tracks, and lift shaft.

That's the job. Get it from construction-finished to move-in ready before the first resident walks through the door.

Strata and residential builders cleans are a big part of what we do across Western Sydney. New developments, staged builds, individual lots — we've done them all.

Okay, storytime. 👀
We did a first clean for a small Retail Store in Parramatta a few months back. Seven staff. Nice space, good fitout, the kind of fast food place where you can tell someone cared when they set it up.
The office manager told me they'd been cleaning "as needed."
I didn't say anything. But I did find a drink ring on the benches where customers sit that had basically become part of the bench.
Here's the thing about "as needed" — by the time it looks like it needs a clean, it needed one two weeks ago. Retail stores don't get visibly dirty all at once, since the staff does tidy up. It creeps. The bathroom doesn't smell terrible on a Tuesday. By Friday it does. The kitchen bench looks fine Monday morning. By Thursday afternoon, not so much.
For a small Retail Store— say, five to fifteen people — once a week is usually the minimum that keeps things from creeping. Twice a week if you've got a kitchen that gets used properly or customers coming through regularly.
Daily if you have foot high traffic, food, or a bathroom that multiple people share all day.
The question isn't really "how often" though. It's "what standard do you want people to walk into?"

Okay, storytime. 👀
You know what nobody tells you about being a cleaner? You find out EVERYTHING about the space the moment you walk in. And I mean everything.
We take over a job and it's like reading tea leaves. The middle of the room tells you nothing — that bit's always fine, because that's the bit everyone notices. It's the edges that talk. The skirting boards. Behind the toilet. The top of the partition walls nobody's looked at since the last olympics.
I can tell you how long it's been since a space had a proper going-over just by running one finger along a skirting board. It's a talent. It's also a little bit tragic. 😅
And the kitchen? Don't get me started on the kitchen. The microwave is where the truth lives.
Here's the thing though — most of this stuff isn't anyone's fault. It's just the bits that get skipped when everyone's flat out and busy. Out of sight, out of mind. It builds up quietly until one day a client walks in and clocks it before you do.
So on our first visit we reset the whole lot — edges, taps, the works — so after that it's just keeping it lovely, not digging out six months of "we'll get to it.
If you've got a cleaner and you've never once checked behind the loo… maybe have a sticky-beak this week. Report back. I want the goss. 🫖
