Hi everyone,
We are currently assisting in organising a fundraiser / charity auction in Bendigo for a beautiful local family, Ash & Drew, whose lives changed forever after Drew suddenly became critically unwell while on a family holiday in Bali on the 15th of March 2026.
Drew was diagnosed with Typhoid Fever, Meningitis & Leptospirosis and despite extensive treatment both overseas and back home in Australia, he has sadly shown very little improvement and is now suffering ongoing neurological complications including seizures and amnesia His future and recovery remain incredibly uncertain as quoted by the specialist teams.
As a result, Drew is unable to work and Ash has become his full-time carer while trying to hold their family together through the most heartbreaking and overwhelming time of their lives.
We are currently organising a fundraiser βDoin It For Drewβ & a auction on Saturday 4th July at All Seasons Bendigo featuring live entertainment from Kate DeAraugo, Chris DeAraugo, Josh DeAraugo & Stella Perry, with all proceeds going directly toward supporting the family with ongoing medical, travel and living expenses.
We are reaching out to see whether there are any local businesses, organisations or individuals within this amazing community who may be willing to donate:
π€ Gift vouchers
π€ Products
π€ Services
π€ Experiences
π€ Raffle or auction items
Absolutely anything, big or small, would mean the world and help us support this family during such an incredibly difficult and uncertain time.
Abell To Do It has donated a month of free cleaning including a spring clean, as well as an oven cleaning voucher!
If you feel you may be able to help, please comment below or send one of our organising team members a private message. We would appreciate donations to be received as soon as possible, so that we can finalise our website details with auction items and raffle items. We are more than happy to add them in as they come in, so if you need time that is absolutely more than fine!
Thank you so much Bendigo, we have already seen so much kindness and community support and we are incredibly grateful π€
