See you round like a rissole!
It’s time!
He started at 17 and the clock has now ticked over to 40 years! Can you believe it?
Peter Pelleri has been the well-oiled engine and the heartbeat of Lindus Dry Cleaners since he started as a kid. He has given it his all …. 200% you could say.
He has mastered the art of fabrics, stain removal, restoration, and preservation. Peter has single-handedly run all facets of the business from the daily grind of cleaning & finishing garments to marketing, account keeping, shop maintenance, and managing a team of over 70 staff over numerous locations all over Sydney, not to mention over the years teaching hundreds of individuals the skill and art of dry cleaning. He has done all this whilst with one ear pressed to a phone tilted to his shoulder endlessly haggling with service providers or skilfully negotiating with landlords and shopping centres whilst he meticulously cleaned and pressed each piece laboriously with precision and care.
We estimate that Peter has cleaned and finished approximately 118,560 pieces per year, making that 4,742,400 garments in his career with every single one receiving his infamous Midas touch. Peter has been such an inspiration to work alongside. You will never meet a soul who works as hard as this guy. His fierce determination, spirit, confidence, and honesty have kept it all powering on even in the toughest of times, through the downturns and pandemic; he has kept the ship full steam ahead. You feel a part of a tight crew when you work with Pete, together with his straight-arrow focussed leadership you also definitely know where you stand as well…. and this is why he is so respected. There is no mucking around until the job is done…...
Peter has indeed been the lifeblood of this company and will be sorely missed.
Lindus will be a much emptier place without him.
To our Strong-Reliable-Energetic- Hardworking - Tenacious - Silly bu**er- Loveable - Good Hearted -Inspirational- Persistent –Hard ass – Our Rock – Perfectionist Pete…You will be missed, and we all wish you all the very, very best.
Love the Lindus Team

P.s Pete may be retiring from dry cleaning, but he is already dreaming up new ventures to get his hands into but only after a long-overdue bloody well-deserved rest and recuperation. Rest you say?……lol Pete's version of rest, for now, is a sturdy rig and a comfy van with wifey by his side doing a lap of the map. Yep! the next chapter is about van living and exploring around Oz. 6 days? 6 weeks? 6mths? Who knows, but no doubt he will deliver good energy and cheer into each town he stumbles upon.❤
P.ss - I can hear the brides of Sydney crying now when they find out he is no longer in the biz.
P.sss -I'm sure Peter will miss saying his usual "Are you going dancing tonight?" to anyone that is left standing with him on a Friday afternoon (it used to be to Jan) but I suppose I will be the lucky one who will be asked this on repeat and I will undoubtedly roll my eyes and laugh at it like it’s the first time he’s asked me.
