Most pest managers, especially those in urban areas, never actually experience a mouse plague. You may see footage on the news, but when infestation levels are mentioned – such as 800 mice per hectare – it's a bit hard to visualise.

The ABC has created this great little visualisation that certainly hits home what homeowners, businesses, and farmers have to deal with.

Go to the page and scroll to see the visualisation.

Valerie, despite the fancy sounding name, can cause severe damage to buildings and other wooden structures. It is common for this species to devour timber framing leaving only a thin veneer. This species is the most shy of the destructive species; they will retreat from a location immediately (for the time being) if disturbed.
Coptotermes frenchi is a highly destructive, native subterranean termite species found throughout coastal Australia, from Queensland through to South Australia and Western Australia.
