Fair question, actually.
Collection day feels like the end of it. Truck comes, bin's empty, out of sight, sorted. But actually that's not where the story ends - it's barely halfway.
From there it gets separated into streams. Some of it's recovered, some recycled, some not. And a fair bit - plastic especially - ends up in landfill regardless of which bin it started in.
So the real question isn't just which bin. It's what happens once it lands.
That's the part we think about at Biogone.
If a plastic product is heading for landfill anyway, it may as well be built to break down faster and without leaving behind any microplastics once it gets there.
