THIS IS A CHRISTMAS WISH AND REQUEST FOR HELP FOR A NEWLY ARRIVED YOUNG FAMILY FROM OVERSEAS.
With Christmas arriving like a freight train, I imagine there are a few young fellas who’ve outgrown their bike and Santa is bringing the latest brand spanking model.
If their outgrown bike isn’t a fossil, and is likely to sit in the shed till it rusts and goes to the tip, would you consider giving it a new home.

I’m a disability support worker when I’m not cleaning chimneys, and I have two teenaged boys and their mum with not much more than a suitcase.

Christmas probably isn’t their thing, but It would be pretty awesome if they each had a bike so they could get around the town. I have some crappy old ones in the shed but I think they’d probably rather die than be seen on them. Anyway I just thought I’d ask in case there was someone driving to the tip at this moment who would rather give their old bike to a good cause.
SIZES
one boys bike for a 13 yo /year 7.
One suitable for a 14/15 yo boy and if it happens to be available a ladies bike.

Recently We have had reports that calls to Alexandra Chimney Sweep have gone unanswered.

This is extremely frustrating because we’ve been surprised and worried that we haven’t had many calls!

I have recently taken over Alexandra Chimney Sweep from Bob who has now retired. My partner Robyn and I provide reliable, friendly, prompt and thorough cleaning and servicing of solid fuel heaters, flues and open fireplaces.
Our service may include:
-Sweep of chimney / flue.
-clean firebox or fireplace including glass
-Adjustment and lubrication of moving parts, hinges, door latch.
-Remove, clean and lubricate noisy or dirty fan.
-replacement of plate or rope around door or glass.
-Repair or replace chinaman’s hat.
-Emergency call-out for blocked heater/flue or for rescue of trapped animals.

Last week we were called for a blocked chimney. When the dust settled we found a poor little possum who had no doubt been stuck for some time. We gave him some water and TLC and passed him on to one of our local wildlife carers (bless their cotton Sox). He was taken to Healesville Sanctuary but sadly he was euthanised because he had severe burns, even though it looked like he was just a bit singed.
PLEASE CALL if you think you might have a bird or critter in your chimney or flue (or if it is blocked). We are local and we’ll come out pretty much straight away and get your heater going and hopefully save the animal.
PLEASE DONT LIGHT THE FIRE HOPING IT WILL LEAVE. They can’t climb up a flue.
If you do remove it yourself don’t assume it will be ok if you let it go. It might have injuries that are not easily identified. Please call a wildlife carer or a vet.
