Some beautiful conditions for shooting and a good overall result! 44 roos for 1126kg off to the processor, a pair of foxes taken out for the farmer who's just started lambing and to top it off two deer for the freezer. 🦘🦊🦌

Although it's been a while since I last posted the shooting work never stops! Roos, foxes, cats, rabbits, rats and emus have all been hitting the deck over the last month. I've also had a few new toys to play with 👌. Fingers crossed we get a little bit more of this nice weather before winter sets in and makes things a bit tougher.

If you need a hand to control feral pests on your property then don't hesitate to reach out!

Welstead fox shoot 2026. It's always great fun to catch up with some mates and participate in the local fox shoots. It was a successful night out, christening the new shotgun and taking out 30 foxes!

To say it's been a big week behind the rifle is an understatement! I've had some new toys to play with (shotgun, air rifle and .243) and they've all got a workout.

Deer cull Tuesday.
Rat control contract on Wednesday.
Thursday night roos.
More deer on Friday.
Welstead fox shoot on Saturday.

Unfortunately due to the nature of some of the contracts I can't share many details or photos. My roo shoot was successful though! A nice full ute in good time and finally some big boys on the ute.

Results from the welstead fox shoot to come. 🦌🦘🦊

Nothing special about the average weight from this load, but at the end of the day a full ute is a full ute. Another load of 50 for 1110kg off to the processor and another happy farmer 💪

As someone who specialises in pest control you'd think I'd do a better job of keeping the rabbits out of my garden! These two won't be smashing the veggies any more 🐇.

It was an action packed long weekend behind the rifle! I went back to back on roos Thursday and Friday night. The full moon always makes things tricky, but the ute was filled Thursday and a nice quick little load for Friday.

It was then time to try some "proper hunting" for a change. I caught up with a couple mates to chase deer with the bow on Sunday and Monday. We had some close encounters but unfortunately couldn't seal the deal with the bow.
I didn't want to waste an opportunity to get my youngest brother his first deer while we were out there though, so out came the rifle. I must say I was a tad jealous when this bloke appeared, but it was his turn and to say he's stoked is an understatement!
Overall a great weekend! 🦘🦌👌

After 50mm of rain overnight and steady showers all day I'm glad I picked Thursday night for a shoot! The wind made it hard work early on, but 14 out of the last paddock in the last hour made for a good night. 44 roos off to the processor and one into my fridge for jerky.

Fronting up to work after a big night out is never easy, but it's better than trying to shoot in the rain 💪.

The goal for last nights shoot was to fill the ute with roos and find a deer for the freezer. Well, 2 minutes into the first paddock and I had a deer on the ground with my first shot of the night! The roos then followed, putting 38 for 1003kg on the ute for the processor, and 3 to take home for the dogs.
It was then in the last paddock, with the last shot of the night that another deer hit the ground. All up a good night!

Something a bit different this weekend. My thermal was off getting some repairs so it was back to the old school spotlight and glass. Took a minute to get used to it again, but I made it work 💪
