✨ DID YOU KNOW? ✨
A little something you might not know about MK Specialised Cleaning… 🖤
I’ve actually been in the cleaning industry for 18 years now, which makes me feel slightly ancient when I say it out loud 😂
But starting MK was never really just about starting a cleaning business.
I got to a point where I looked at my life and thought… surely there has to be more than working a 9–5, constantly trying to juggle kids, work, life and everything in between, while spending most of my time building someone else’s dream.
I wanted to build mine.
I wanted more time with my kids.
I wanted freedom.
I wanted to create something I could actually be proud of.
And most importantly, I wanted to see what would happen if I finally backed myself.
So I did. 🤷♀️😂
I definitely didn't have everything figured out. There was no huge business plan or magical moment where I suddenly knew exactly what I was doing.
There was basically just me thinking “Alright… we’re doing this.” 😂
And somehow, little by little, MK started becoming everything I pictured in my head.
One client turned into two, then more came along, and eventually I reached the point where I needed other people beside me.
And that's probably one of the things I'm most proud of.
Because now I get to create the kind of workplace I would have wanted.
Good pay. School-hour opportunities. Everything supplied. Flexibility where we can give it. And most importantly, actually appreciating the people who work for us.
Because life doesn't stop just because you have a job.
Kids get sick. Things happen. Families need us. And I never want MK to become one of those businesses that forgets there are actual humans behind the uniform.
And then there's the cleaning itself…
After 18 years, I'm still ridiculously fussy 😂
I notice the tiny things. I care about the things most people probably wouldn't even look at, and I've always believed that if someone is paying us to look after their home, then we should genuinely take pride in doing it properly.
Because I've always said a clean home is about more than just cleaning.
You can feel the difference.
When your home is clean, fresh and calm, the whole energy of the space changes. ✨
So when I look at MK now, I don't just see a cleaning business.
I see something I built because I wanted a different life for myself and my kids.
I see every client who took a chance on us.
I see every lesson I've learnt along the way — and trust me, there have been MANY 😂
I see a growing team.
And I see something I'm genuinely really proud of.
We're still growing, still learning and I still have some very big ideas for where I want to take this little business of mine.
But considering it all started with me deciding to take a chance on myself…
I'd say we're doing alright. 🖤✨
