Went to the dark side… 🖤 Loved this wardrobe edit, ‘like with like’, colour with colour and tubs for the open shelving to stop the chaos of the visual clutter. If you’re not the type to keep shelves tidy, try investing in some tubs. These $5 ‘drona’ tubs from were used for everyday items such as active wear, pj’s and hoodies. No new hangers needed, all clients own. Sorted and calm is restored!

Loved visiting this beautiful store 🤍

Hello weekend 👋

I think we're finally getting a taste of Spring this weekend here in SA, and we can not wait.

Sunshine, blossoms, and no footy. 😆
It's going to be a good one.

The benefits of a no-buy year are obviously significant. But how can we accomplish such a challenge.

Today was fun. 🤍

My clients problem was, in her own words, ‘I nearly get there but I just can’t finish it!’ So no new products needed just edited, rezoned, ‘like with like’, labelling and these everyday used bowls moved to the middle of the shelf rather to one side. Instantly makes for a calmer and balanced look.

Open, walk in pantry’s should look just as good as the rest of the house and flow seamlessly… it’s the little things, the fun things. Try it for yourself, a little tweak, and see what happens! 🥰

Cannot wait to pack up this house for a lovely client ready for her big move into her new home, from one beach front to another. 🌊 Packing up and unpacking clients old and new homes is a favourite for me, taking all the dreaded moving day stress away! 📦📦📦

Photo sorting and storing.📷

The past few days I’ve been busy organising, sorting and storing a collection of my parents photos for them, and I feel like I’ve been in an episode of ‘who do you think you are’ ( a personal favourite show of mine ) so fun! As with any decluttering and organising task there are rules to follow.

Get everything out. Edit. Sort into ‘like with like’, store and label. So with the photos it was the same. Get all the photos into one place, edit where necessary, sort into like with like, ( years, people, events, places etc) store and label.

Photo albums I pretty much kept as is but loose photos still in their jackets were sorted into, where appropriate, people, places, special events, grandchildren, family groups etc etc.

These storage containers from Kmart were perfect for this project, photos stored into each container and larger, older, historic photos in a larger storage container.

I was completely overwhelmed with DM’s yesterday asking where these were from so here they are for reference! ( sorry to those I haven’t replied to yet! )

Because, well, if you haven’t sorted your family photos during a pandemic, will you ever????

I’m often asked for advice on keeping kids books and toys under control and how to organise them. I have two words. Donate and Rotate.

Kids have so, so, so many toys and books these days that it’s nearly impossible to keep them all under control and organised so donating and rotating is key.

DONATE: toys they have outgrown, don’t just let them take up precious space in the toy basket unused and unloved. Alternatively if you want to pass them on to other siblings (or grandchildren!) down the track, pack and store away. A simple solution.

ROTATE: Don’t have all the toys available and within reach at once, otherwise it ends up looking like a day care centre. Pay attention to what toys they are currently playing with and store ones that haven’t been touched in a while away, out of sight. When the current faves fade, bring out the old, rotate and they will suddenly seem shiny and new!

Good storage is key and good pack up routines at the end of every day is crucial, encouraging respect for what they own. They do it at school so they should definitely do it at home! Colour coordinating kids books is an easy way to get them involved and take ownership of their stuff. 💙💚💛❤️

That time I didn’t buy clothes for a year…

Inspired to share after post of not buying anything new for a month, I remembered that time I didn’t buy any clothes for a whole year.

It was a few years ago now after reading an article in The Weekend Australian about a group of friends from California, who over the course of a dinner party began lamenting on consumerism, fast fashion, climate change, the whole lot and by the end of the night had all agreed to ‘a year of compacting’ not buying anything new for a year, no clothes, nothing for the home, electrical, furniture, nothing…! By the time I finished the article I had decided, for me, I wasn’t going to buy any new clothes for 12 months starting immediately. ( underwear updates allowed ☺️) While it was an adjustment at first, going into winter was always my favourite time to purchase, ( cosy jumpers, jeans, boots) I immediately avoided the stores and no longer went browsing, the easier it became. Luckily I’m no fashionista, I’m pretty simple in my dressing, ( but I do like a nice sneaker, pair of jeans and a cosy jumper or two ☺️) I didn’t shout from the roof tops that this was what I was doing so when the 12 months was up there was no celebration, I didn’t rush out and go on a shopping spree binge to celebrate, I just eased back into life and bought what I needed, when I needed it. It was most definitely life changing and probably something I should do again as old habits creep back in.

One way I do curb and keep control of my wardrobe is to use wooden hangers. The simple Scandi style is so aesthetically pleasing to me, they are also a lot bulkier than the slimline hangers which makes space limited in my tiny wardrobe, so having less is a must!

While I’m not preaching going a year without purchasing, something smaller can be a good reality check. 1 month, 3, 6, 9 or 12, could you do it? I’d love to know! Also head over to for her take on mindful purchasing this year. 🤍

So I had a Capsule wardrobe before it was ‘a thing’, was sparking joy before it was ‘a thing’, basically I’m a visionary haha !!! 😂☺️
