When Bill told Rose he’d have 100 people working with him one day, her reply was “Yeah…sure, Bill.”
Back then it was just the two of them. Rose was the call centre, accounts, admin, HR and franchise support and whatever else needed doing that day. Every time Bill came up with a new idea (whipper snipers, computers in 1981, pagers), she was the one who talked everyone round.
In 2003, Bill was inducted into the FCA Hall of Fame the year it was created. This year, Rose joined him and the two people who started V.I.P. together are now in the Hall of Fame together!
Rose calls V.I.P. the child they raised together. 47 years on, it’s being carried forward by their own children, Matthew, Abby and Natasha.
In her speech, Rose thanked our franchisees: “You are the reason V.I.P. is here and why I am here.”
As Bill put it, V.I.P. would not have survived without Rose’s comfort and compassion. We couldn’t agree more.
