Léo Lagrange – Timber Structure for an Open Public Campus 🏫🌿
A formerly closed sports site in Les Mureaux has been transformed into an open public campus, reconnecting the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Education, sports and community use now come together within a single structure — designed to remain active beyond school hours.
Structurally, the building follows a timber system of columns and beams, complemented by KLH® – CLT for walls and ceilings that provide horizontal bracing. In total, more than 7,000 m² of KLH® panels were used, including areas forming accessible and green roof structures.
“This project is characterised by its innovative approach to sustainable construction. The use of natural building materials and the harmonious integration of the building into its surroundings make it a symbolic example of responsible architecture.”— Prix AMO 2024 Jury
