Pfizer Announces COVID-19 Vaccine is 90% Effective

Hey SafeSpace Followers! Hope you’re keeping well and safe.

In what comes as fantastic news, US-based pharma company Pfizer Inc and German biotech company BioNTech recently announced that their covid vaccine candidate, BNT162b2 has shown efficacy against the COVID-19 Virus.

Pfizer and German partner BioNTech SE are the first drugmakers to show successful data from a large-scale clinical trial of a coronavirus vaccine. In addition to that, the companies reiterated that they have found no serious safety concerns so far. US emergency use authorization will be requested later this month.

In a released statement, Pfizer said "(our) Vaccine candidate was found to be more than 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 in participants without evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection in the first interim efficacy analysis,"

COVID-19 Vaccine Update from Leading Candidates - Rolling Reviews

In what comes as good news, in the race to the COVID-19 vaccine amidst a second wave of the virus in some parts of the world; UK has started rolling reviews of leading vaccine candidates AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

In case you were wondering what a ‘rolling review’ is, here are the details-

Rolling reviews allow regulators to see clinical data in real-time and have discussions with companies about ongoing trials and manufacturing processes simultaneously. This allows for approvals to be granted more quickly.

The ‘rolling review’ approach is designed to speed up access to drugs and vaccines when there is a public health need.

This week let’s talk about some Shopping tips to keep in mind during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

✔️Tip 1 - Prepare a shopping list in advance. Aim to buy no more than 1 to 2 weeks worth of groceries at a time. Buying more than you need can create unnecessary demand and temporary shortages!

✔️Tip 2 - Always wear a mask and practice social distancing. Most stores have made it compulsory, and it is compulsory according to government regulations too.

✔️Tip 3 - Disinfect the shopping cart, by using disinfecting wipes if and whenever available.

✔️Tip 4 -Use touchless payment if possible while checking out. If you must handle money, a card, or use a keypad, use hand sanitizer right after paying.
