Trailblazing Thursday 💚💛
Today we celebrate Tsitsi Masiyiwa, a Zimbabwean woman whose work has transformed thousands of lives across Africa.
Though many know her as Strive Masiyiwa’s “wife,” Tsitsi Masiyiwa has built a powerful legacy of her own. She is a leader, philanthropist, and champion for education and youth empowerment.
Together with her husband, she co-founded the Higherlife Foundation in 1996. Through this foundation, hundreds of thousands of young Africans,especially vulnerable children and orphans,have received scholarships, mentorship, and life-changing educational opportunities.
She also founded Delta Philanthropies, which focuses on tackling poverty and empowering communities through innovative programs across Africa.
Beyond philanthropy, Tsitsi Masiyiwa serves on several global boards and initiatives that focus on education, leadership development, health, and empowering young Africans. Her work has earned her international recognition and multiple honorary awards for her contribution to society.

CHAPTER 1: The Drought That Broke the Village

For three long years, the sun ruled Nyamashanga without mercy. The river shrank until it became a scar across the land. The maize fields stood like rows of thirsty skeletons. Each day felt heavier than the last, and even the elders stopped promising that the rains would return.

Yet in the heart of that despair lived five women with rare gifts they hid from the world. Tariro carried a voice that could stir clouds when she sang and move the earth when she danced. Nyasha could read the language of the winds. Rufaro controlled fire with a quiet authority. Chipo commanded the soil itself, coaxing life from the ground. And Makanaka, the dream-walker, saw visions that guided paths no one else could see.

They lived among the villages like ordinary women, but each one carried a secret that frightened others. So they kept silent, burying their gifts as deeply as the village buried its hope.

Until the dreams came.

One night, Makanaka jolted awake from a vision so powerful her hands trembled. She saw herself and the other four standing beneath the sky at exactly 3AM, forming a glowing circle. The clouds trembled above them, waiting. A whisper told her the rains had not abandoned Nyamashanga. They were trapped, waiting to be called by the ones destined to awaken them.

The dream refused to let her rest. She knew what she had to do.
