peace and unity as we mourn our former vice president,

A PHOTO THAT HAS BECOME A MEMORY OF A GENERATION: By Gilbert Banda

There was a time when this photograph captured four remarkable leaders walking side by side Kenneth Kaunda, Michael Sata, Rupiah Banda, and Guy Scott. It symbolized Zambia's rich political history, resilience, and peaceful democratic transition.

Today, the image carries a far deeper meaning.
The smiles that once lit the moment have become memories. The footsteps that once echoed through the corridors of leadership have fallen silent. Time has claimed every one of these statesmen, reminding us that no matter how powerful or influential a person may be, life is temporary.

Dr. Kenneth Kaunda laid the foundation of an independent Zambia. President Rupiah Banda steered the nation through his chapter of service. President Michael Sata inspired many with his bold leadership and determination. Dr.
Guy Scott made history as Zambia's first white Vice President and later became Acting

President, guiding the nation during a difficult period following President Sata's passing.
Though they came from different political backgrounds and held different visions for Zambia, they shared one thing in common a commitment to serving their country.

This photograph is no longer just a picture of leaders. It is a reminder that history is written not only by the offices people hold, but by the legacy they leave behind. As Zambia remembers these four men, may future generations draw lessons from their service, celebrate the nation's peaceful democratic journey, and remember that while leaders pass on, their contributions remain part of the country's story.

"The men in this photograph are gone, but the history they helped shape will live on forever."
