Cuts evaporation, so you're not topping up all spring
Keeps leaves and debris out while pollen season is in full swing

Solar pool cover or solar heating panels — do you need one, or both?

Short answer: they solve different problems, and together they work far better than either alone.

A solar cover traps the heat that's already in your pool and cuts evaporation by up to 95%
Solar heating panels actively add new heat as water circulates through them

Together, they help your pool heat up faster and stay warm longer. Full breakdown in our latest article 👇

Did you know covering your pool is actually the law in Cape Town, not just a good idea?
The City of Cape Town's Water By-law requires ALL swimming pools to be covered when not in use, to prevent evaporation. And it's permanent. It applies at every restriction level, drought or no drought.

Want to keep topping up with municipal water legally? You need a non-permeable, solid pool cover — exactly what our solar bubble covers are.

How much does a solar pool cover actually cost in Cape Town?

It depends on more than just your pool size — micron thickness, delivery vs. installation, and add-ons like a roll-up station all play a part.
