🫧 Soap Overload: The Plot Twist No One Asked For 🫧

A friendly reminder to our fabulous Wishy Washy customers: more detergent does not mean cleaner clothes. Our commercial‑grade machines already kick *ss - they don’t need to star in their own bubble bath commercial to get the job done.

When your washer looks like a foam party gone rogue, your clothes aren’t getting cleaner… they’re getting yucky, sticky, and coated in leftover soap slime. Not ideal. 1/4 and 1/2 cup instructions are on all machines.

And if you’ve got a very dirty load (we’re talking mud, sweat, mystery stains from the weekend), the secret isn’t drowning it in detergent..... it’s choosing the right settings, and a little stain remove spray, pre-wash. A warm or hot wash and/or an extended cycle (always check the care label) will do far more heavy lifting than a soap tsunami ever will.

🏥And for customer safety, excess suds cause the washer to flood, spreading thick, slippery soap across the floor. We want clean clothes and your clean bill of health!

🍂 Autumn is here family and so are the cooler nights!

It’s the perfect time to pull out your winter doona and give it a fresh, clean reset before the chill really sets in. Our Mega Washer can handle even a super king–sized doona with ease, and the Mega Dryer will have it warm, fluffy, and smelling amazing in no time. (*Always check the washing label).

A good wash also helps clear out any little crawlies that may have made your doona their secret summer hideaway ..... consider them evicted!

TIP: Add a few drops of lavender (or your favourite essential oil) to a clean cloth and pop it in the dryer for a beautifully scented finish.

📣Our mega washer is operational again.
The problem causing very low water was 2 bra wires caught in the drain.

We encourage customers who wash their bras at Wishy Washy, to please use a mesh laundry bag. This will not only extend the life of your bras from being twisted, stretched and hooks breaking, but also keeping the under wires intact, helping us all 🌸🌸

Wishy Washy is presently encountering difficulties with its internet connection. We are working closely with our service provider to rectify the issue via re-booting, although progress has been intermittent.

✨ **We Take Washing Seriously** ✨

Behind the scenes, our machines get more pampering than most houseplants! Regular surface cleaning each week and a deep clean every month, plus regular weekly maintenance to keep everything running beautifully. It’s all part of making sure your clothes get the fresh, clean wash they deserve.

If you ever visit other laundromats take a moment to peek inside the soap dispensers and machine seals. A little detergent residue is normal… but mould, mystery gunk, and “archaeological layers” of old product definitely aren’t. Same goes for the drums and doors. Stainless steel may be a diva to keep streak‑free, but it should never be hiding hair clips, screws, tile spacers, or last week’s snack wrappers.

We’re committed to keeping our space clean, safe, and pleasant and if you ever spot a spill or something that needs urgent attention, we’d love to know.

Here’s to happy washing and machines that sparkle as much as your freshly cleaned clothes ✨🧺

We kindly ask our customers to please be mindful of the amount of detergent used when washing, particularly liquid and laundry beads.

This video is an example of what we've seen twice now, over the past week. This is after a wash, with no clothes in the machine. Unless the soap suds are flushed, it's a continual cycle of the next customer adding more soap with potential for flooding suds in Wishy Washy. **Such heavy suds during a wash will leave your clothes stickier and heavier.

We encourage you to read the signage provided. Use the amount of detergent you would normally use at home and as per our signage. Our machines do not require additional detergent, as they provide a very efficient wash.
