The holidays are FAST approaching, and the winter is officially here in Downeast Maine 🎄❄️

I was decorating my home for Christmas today and I got such a kick out of my decorations that I’ve found, either by thrifting, estate sales hosted by other companies, or my own estate sales for clients. My home is filled with things that have been well-loved, and that makes me happy.

Part of the joy of this business is helping steward a home full of memories and giving items new life in other homes. Call me sentimental, it’s a compliment 😜

My wheels started turning and I would love to see photos of items you’ve purchased at a sale of mine, on display in your own home! If you participate, you’ll be entered into a gift card raffle for a local spot of your choice from the following:

And that’s a WRAP!

Well, technically we wrapped on Monday, but it was a busy week of birthday celebrations, thanksgiving prep, and a big ole’ feast with family yesterday 😜

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family! I am so thankful for all my customers, and clients that have made the transition from cleaning to estate sales SO fun and fulfilling!

I wanted to share what happened after the sale with you all, because there are often questions like “where will all the leftover stuff go?”

- we were able to host two hours of everything free, in which a local family scored a new entertainment center, TV, and DVD player, and grandparents found baby gear and were able to take it home for their sweet grand baby! Others found small tools and cleaning products that will surely be used.
- we gave dishes, some lamps, a clothing rack and hangers to a local community shop in Jonesport. All items will be offered to the public for a small donation, or free, depending on what can be afforded.
- we took two pieces of furniture to the dump, but managed to salvage a beautiful piece of granite from the top of a cabinet. The rest of the cabinet couldn’t make it out of the house without being disassembled.
- miscellaneous trash and garage and barn garbage was also taken to the dump. We managed to take a small dump trailer load to the dump, and that’s IT!

Part of the fun of sales is seeing how on earth we will find homes for the remaining items. My goal is to keep the landfills from being overloaded with items that can be used by someone. We will always do a couple of hours free before we take anything to the dump.

If any of our followers are affiliated with local nonprofits that could use donations, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We are so thankful for the support of our community, and want to return the favor. Additionally, if you utilize scrap metal, wood, or other small building scraps, please reach out! I’d rather see “trash” be used by someone in a fun and unique way, than lining a dumpster.

As always, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support at this last sale! It was a roaring success and I can’t wait to do it again ✨

🌊 Times:
Thursday, November 20th and Friday, November 21st from 10-5
Saturday, November 22nd from 9-2

🌊 Free Day: Sunday, November 23rd from 1-3pm

🌊 Milwaukee tools, Crate & Barrel lamps, antique furniture, sheet sets, outdoor kid toys, lightly used men and women’s clothing and shoes, kitchen wares, a lightly used Nespresso machine, a Spode tea collection, a barely used Trek carbon bike, miscellaneous tools, beautiful wall art, baby gear, and more!

🌊 Rules:
- No early birds!
- Cash & card only
- Do not block driveway; park on the marked areas of the lawn or on the road
- Stay out of marked areas in the home
- Be KIND to fellow shoppers and staff
- Take note of any informational signs and markings throughout the house
- Bring tote bags!

Wind & Waves Home Services, LLC is hosting an estate sale this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9-2 each day!

This was the estate of a long time merchant mariner and his craft and collectible-loving wife! It’s been in the family for over 120 years and has relics from the 1900’s scattered throughout. There are Studio Hummel pieces, beer steins from Germany, Avon glassware, bed sets, canning supplies, some fly-fishing gear, and tons more! This house is a treasure trove.

The home is located at 17 School Street in Machias and our hours will be Thursday (18th), Friday (19th), and Saturday (20th) from 9-2 each day.

We will open the doors at 9am each day and will not accept early-birds. Bring totes or grocery bags to put your goodies in, you will surely leave with an armful! Be wary parking as it’s a residential area. There is a parking lot at the base of school street if you’d like to walk up. Please don’t block any driveways, including the driveway at 17 School Street.

Tell your friends (or don’t, you need all the goods for yourself 🤪) and let’s make this sale a great one!
