The Other Side of the Cleaning Caddy 🧽✨
After more than a decade of cleaning homes, we can tell you one thing for certain:
We see a lot more than dust.
We see the pregnancy test tucked beside the bathroom sink (and a few months later, the nursery taking shape).
We notice when one toothbrush becomes two.
And yes, sometimes when two becomes one.
We see the school pictures change on the refrigerator and the pencil marks creep higher up the doorframe.
We see the laundry mountain that reproduces faster than any reasonable human can keep up with.
We see the evidence of the birthday party, the sleepover, the new puppy, the graduation, the holiday chaos, and the Tuesday night where everyone apparently decided socks belong in completely different rooms.
We see the guest room become a nursery, an office, a teenager’s room, or a place for a parent who needs a little extra help.
We notice the new family photos.
The moving boxes.
The get-well cards.
The college acceptance letter stuck proudly to the fridge.
The dog bed that’s been in the same sunny corner for years.
The teenager’s room that slowly starts to empty as they move on to the next chapter of life… and the tissue box on mom’s nightstand once they’re gone.
We see houses become homes… and we get to watch life happen inside them.
And sometimes, life is beautiful.
Sometimes it’s exciting.
Sometimes it’s messy as hell.
And sometimes people are simply doing the best they can to make it through the week.
That’s something I wish more people understood about this job.
A great house cleaner doesn’t just know how to make a shower door sparkle.
She knows how to walk into someone’s most personal space and treat it with respect.
No judgment over the dishes.
No commentary about the laundry.
No repeating what we see or hear.
No assumptions about what someone may be going through.
Just: We’ve got you.
Because when someone hands you the key to their home, they’re trusting you with a whole lot more than their countertops.
They’re trusting you with a little glimpse into their life.
And after all these years, that’s still one of the parts of this business we take the most seriously.
We’ll clean the mess.
We’ll protect your privacy.
And whatever weird s**t we find under your kid’s bed?
No, we didn’t. 😉✨
