There is a freeze warning for tonight!!!

Unprotected pipes can freeze, burst, and cause costly water damage if they are below freezing temperatures. Below is some preventative information that I hope you find useful.

WATER SPIGOT
* Close the shut-off valve on the pipes which lead to your outdoor spigots.
* The temperature inside your home should be maintained at around 60F to prevent pipes from freezing.
* Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow the warm air to circulate to the pipes.
* Keep the garage door closed to prevent cold air from coming in.
* Insulate all exposed pipes.

FAUCETS
* When the temperature is low, let your faucets drip a little bit. Moving water will not freeze as easily as still water.

IF PIPES FREEZE
* Turn water off at main shut off valve.
* Leave faucets on to relieve pressure.
* Use a blow dryer to thaw frozen pipes.
* Move the blow dryer around- do not hold in one spot.
* Do not use any torches or open flames.

IF PIPES BURST
* Turn water off at main shut off valve.
* Call your local plumber

Now that Halloween is over.....how many of you have had the kids "accidently" get gum in the carpets?

Cleaning Tip:
**Like any other new tips..be sure to test first on a small hidden area**
To remove Gum from carpets. Apply some analgesic heat rub (ex. Bengay) to the gummed up area, then heat up with a hair dryer on low. Press a plastic sandwich bag (do not use plastic wrap because it will not work) on the gum area and pull away. Repeat until the gum is no longer present and then clean carpet area like normal.

Cleaning Tip:
Are you ready to have the smell of baked goods in your home without the all the hard work of baking? Then put 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract (or any other extract that you may like) in a small baking dish, then place it in the oven at 275 degrees for one hour. Within 15 minutes your house will smell like fresh baked goodies!

Sometimes cleaning tubs/showers are just a pain! These 3 pictures are from the same tub..before our initial cleaning (top), after 1st visit cleaning (bottom right) & 2 weeks later (bottom left...2nd visit)! Fairy Tale Cleaning Services can usually get everything back to the " new " look on the first visit but if not we will get it there....trust us!!

One of our current clients was having issues before we were hired on getting their shower back to looking "new" again. They spent countless hours & different chemicals to clean the dingy, dirty look away with no luck. Well after Fairy Tale Cleaning Services was hired on we did our work & got the shower back to the "new" look the client was wishing for. As you can see in the after & before picture below.
