Island City Candles makes all its melts, incense, candles, air fresheners and laundry soap and crocheted items.

I first started out making candles for emergencies when the power would go out and you needed something other than a flashlight. I bought a starter kit and made a couple of jar candles and found I enjoyed doing that. I bought more wax and some different fragrances and shared with friends and family. Then one day Bill my second oldest son suggested I start making tarts for the candle warmers. So here I am making tarts. That's my primary product. I do make jar candles mostly in the fall and winter as that is when they are most popular for me. And I mostly make holiday fragrances and Lilac jar candles because that's what sells. I do special orders and order fragrances people suggest I buy. That is one of the reasons I have over 150 fragrances. I try to have on hand what people want. All the candle tarts I make are made at home, sometimes you can smell the fragrances I am making down the street. I have had a few people tell me they smell wonderful and they like it when I am making my candles so they can enjoy the different fragrances.
