Whiteman AFB Pest Management does not perform any work to WAFB Housing managed by Balfour Beatty; however we are still able to provide OUTSTANDING advice, pest identification, advises on self-help/DYI operations, and answers to ALL pest management questions. Whiteman AFB Pest Management is part of the 509th Civil Engineer Squadron and provides control techniques for any pest which poses an actual
or potential problem to the health, morale, safety or welfare of base personnel or damage to Air Force property. Pest Management is required to provide effective, economical and environmentally sound control of insect or animal pests/disease vectors, undesirable terrestrial and aquatic plants and plant diseases. These controls are accomplished through education, inspection, sanitation, waste management, proper storage of foodstuffs or other pest susceptible items. Exclusion, trapping and other mechanical or physical means of containing pests are utilized. Pest Management personnel also provide information for pest preventive pre construction or post construction building techniques and maintenance practices. Biological control methods and minimal use of pesticide applications in a manner that pose the least actual or potential danger to base personnel, Air Force property or the environment are utilized whenever possible.
