My first big Peony order was in 2019 and I planted them at my parents house because I had nowhere else to put them. I love looking back to this time when sweet Arley was still with us and she watched every step of the way πΎ
The following year we planted another 150 and I think I ordered another 50 somewhere along the way. They grew beautifully and were well established when I decided to dig them alllll up and transplant them to a more spacious location we acquired along the way (we lovingly call it the Annex and itβs where we grow our sunnies).
It was a HUGE project to dig them all up by hand and replant. Iβm tired all over again just thinking about it π« and .saint were a huge help!
Last year I was relieved when they all came up but since they were re-establishing the production wasnβt the best.
Fast forward to this year and they are looking fantastic! Itβs such a fleeting crop but Peonies are so beloved and every year I enjoy their fragrance and beauty as much as I can.
