Cleaner water better lives

Cleaner water better lives Hello, thank you for visiting our page. Our choice of concern is the water conditions in South Sudan and Ethiopia.

Our names are Abby, Minna, and Nate and we are 3 high school students in our junior year participating in the Global Leadership Institute (GLI) at our local high schools in Connecticut. More information on GLI here: http://www.taftschool.org/living-our-motto/center-for-global-leadership-and-service/global-leadership-institute
In this program, we are required to take on a project of any global prob

lem, investigate this problem of our concern, and propose solutions/help resolve the issue. We have decided to raise money and awareness about this plight. Please support this cause, all donations are welcome! (please see our Razoo page for more information on donations!)

Hi! One last reminder! Our Walk for Water will be tomorrow the 9th, 1-4 pm at Veterans Memorial Park, Watertown CT! The walk is open to the public and free to attend. Bring decent walking shoes, water if you want (you don't need to because we will have a lot of disposable water bottles and food!), and money if you'd like to donate or buy wristbands! All proceeds are going to Water for South Sudan (nonprofit founded by former South Sudanese "Lost Boy"/refugee, Salva Dut) to build wells! If you'd like to donate, you can do so with a check made out to Water for South Sudan and mailed/given to us, cash, or online at razoo.com/story/Aowqfg (you can make your donation online anonymous or not!) Thanks so much for all your support; let's work together to make a change for the better!

For South Sudan. All donations will be sent to: https://www.razoo.com/story/Water-For-Sudan

South Sudan has officially declared famine. Families are resorting to eating weeds and water lilies to survive. Let's do what we can to help them out by sharing this page or donating so that they can at least have clean water as they progress through their rebuilding process. Thanks!

Hi! My name is Minna Holleck and I live in Southbury. I am a day student at the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, and am so grateful to have the opportunity to participate in the selective Global Leadership Institute (GLI). The mission of GLI is to prep young scholars from Taft and Waterbury, CT to become the next generation of global leaders. As our project, Abby, Nate, and I chose to target the issue of water in Africa, specifically South Sudan and Ethiopia. After reading the book "A Long Walk to Water," by Linda Sue Park, I was astounded by the lack of access to clean water in South Sudan and decided that I wanted to make a change. I have been given so many opportunities in life and I would like to give back to the community by helping others. Thank you so much for visiting our page -- even if you don't make a donation, raising awareness is a key step in the process of rebuilding and resolving. Please share this to spread awareness and inform others of what is really happening in Africa! Thanks!

Hi my name is Abigail, also known as Abby. I am one out of three students doing this project. I go to Waterbury Career Academy High School. I am honored to be in a program like GLI. I truly want to make a change. It shocks me that there are people out there lacking the key nutrient for a healthy living. I hope to help get South Sudan out of this crisis that no one deserves to experience. Please join along with me and make a change today.

Women around the world spend 15-20 hours per week collecting water.

At one drip per second, a faucet can leak 3,000 gallons in a year. Make sure you shut your water off if you're not using it.
