How to clean your dishwasher

Even if you have a relatively new dishwasher, Vila suggests that it's a good idea to clean the dishwasher monthly to help maximize its efficiency. It just takes a few steps to get your dishwasher cleaner.

Clear the drain: Remove the bottom dish rack. Inspect the dishwasher drain, removing any gunk or food caught there. This will improve drainage, increase cleaning efficiency and prevent damage to the dishwasher.
Clean the dishwasher with vinegar: Start with an empty dishwasher. Place a cup of white vinegar in a dishwasher-safe container on the upper rack of the machine. Run the dishwasher through a hot-water cycle. This will wash away grease and grime and remove musty odors, too.
Baking soda rinse: Sprinkle one cup of baking soda across the bottom of the dishwasher. Run a short, hot water cycle. The dishwasher will be fresh-smelling and have a brightened, stain-free interior.

Oven Cleaning - Work Smarter, Not Harder

Loosen up the grime inside using this hack:

Start by boiling one-third of a pot of water on the stove. Once it starts boiling, add an equal amount of white vinegar. Allow it to boil for another 30 seconds or so.

Next, remove the pot from the stove, place it inside the oven on the rack, and close the oven door. Allow the pot to sit for 45 to 60 minutes. When time is up, you can start cleaning!

House Cleaning Hack:

Don’t spend an hour scrubbing out a set-in carpet stain. Iron it out instead.

Spray a solution of one part vinegar and three parts water on the stain, then lay a clean cotton cloth on top.

Turn your iron to its highest steam setting and run it over the stain for about 10 seconds.

The stain will get transferred to the cloth and off your carpet.
