Today, it's about something much more important.
After a long journey filled with hope, patience, countless emotions, and enough paperwork to clear out a small forest, my wife Kayla and I officially adopted our son, Declan.
Becoming foster parents has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of our lives. Along the way, we've learned that family isn't always built the way you expect. It's built through love, commitment, and showing up every single day.
We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported and encouraged our family throughout this journey. More than anything, we're grateful for the privilege of being Mom and Dad to these amazing kids.
As the owner of Know Pressure LLC, I talk a lot about family because this truly is a family business. What many people may not know is that fostering has become a huge part of our family's story. It has challenged us, changed us, and ultimately led us to one of the happiest days of our lives.
It was also a special day for Maddie, who officially gained a little brother forever. Watching their bond grow has been one of the greatest joys of this journey. They’ve already learned the true meaning of being siblings, loving each other one minute and annoying each other the next.
The truth is, a judge's signature didn't make Declan our son yesterday. He already had our hearts. It simply made official what we've felt for a long time.
Welcome home forever, Declan.
Maddie, thank you for being the incredible big sister you are.
