I had someone recently ask me why do you brush the pools? And here is the answer:
Marcite is a porous cement based surface, making it prone to trapping microscopic algae, body oils, and scaling if left undisturbed .
Brushing breaks up invisible microscopic biofilm  and algae colonies before  they take route on the porous walls.
It lifts dust and dirt and dead skin cells off the walls and floors so your main drain can capture them.
It stops localized stains and calcium from bonding permanently to the plaster.
